Hong Kong is a modern city built on an ancient civilization, and put at an intersection of cultures. To get hooked on this incredible city, wall painting with a series of stories and characteristics of Hong Kong is suggested. Different topics will be shown on the wall – from Traditions and Spirituality, to Industrial Revolution. Blending humor and historical facts, these wall paintings at back alleys will give memorable moniker to the back alleys and become icons and attractions.

Ways of Operation

Hong Kong can also take Penang as reference, such as inviting some famous artists or photographers to paint and design the wall, and make them as attractions.

For this use, narrow back alley with the width less than 3m is preferred, as not much space is demanded.

Comparable

Actually, Penang in Malaysia is famous for doing something similar, which is worthy for us to learn from.

In Penang, many streets have become enamored of the newly transformed streetscape, in which the walls are mostly hand-painted by Ernest, who is a Lithuanian-born artist graduated with Honours from Middlesex University in London and currently pursing a career as a full-time artist, animator, photographer and filmmaker.
