Ways of Operation
The plantation can be permanent fixtures or removable pots placed in service lanes depending on if the lane is an EVA or not. The LCSD is responsible for the maintenance of the plants. The residents in the neighbourhood can take part in watering and taking of the plants as well.
Comparable
There are many examples of planting and greening of service lanes around the world. They include Montreal’s Ruelle Vertes, San Francisco’s Living Alley Project and Chicago’s Green Alley initiative. This shows the operation of plantation is easy to manage and suitable for cities like Hong Kong.
